After a lifetime spent in and around boats, I decided to concentrate all the knowledge I have gained by becoming a marine surveyor. My marine qualifications include both RYA and AYF Yachtmaster, 15 years as a master V and MED 3, as well as AYF qualifications such as TL1, 2 (examiner), 3, 4 and 6. I have also cruised the Aegean and Mediterranean seas, skippering yachts which included looking after guests. This customer focus together with the experience and knowledge on various boats has furthered my new career path. The experience gained working with yacht brokerages such as Maurie Drent, Jerry Hendrey, as well as Ben Lexcen marine (Cairns) has helped me focus on what sort of things a boat buyer is looking for when choosing his next boat. 5 years as sales manager of Boat Books Australia showed me what reference material is available to boatowners, and my qualifications as a marine surveyor were gained from the National sea training centre at Lloyds Maritime Academy in London. Robs Marine surveying will concentrate on small recreational and commercial vessels with an emphasis on personal attention to the customer's requirements and needs. The job is not over when the report is completed and I am available for consultation and assistance for whatever is needed. Importantly any report that is provided is by RMS to the client.
